Hurricane Hormones
Eyebrows of thunderclouds bringing forth a storm
Of moodiness and apathy and infuriating indifference
With each shift over ice blue eyes, as cold as death
Eyebrows of thunderclouds- it runs in the family
Raining on the parade of happiness
Until a smile does break through the hurricane
But this one is endless
Eyebrows of thunderclouds causing relentless destruction
Ripping umbrellas of positivity out of optimistic hands
Crushing charitable natures into bitter balls of hate
Stabbing hopeful hearts with lightning bolts of misery
Eyebrows of thunderclouds with no end in sight
Beating the sun into the grave
Because the bad mood of a teenager extinguishes even the most powerful of lights
Welcome to hormonal darkness my friend, you're in for a bumpy ride
I dedicate this poem to my brother, James who turned 13 earlier this month :)
